The foyer chair is characterized by the unique interplay of solid oak frame, upholstered seat and sloping backrest, which are composed of three individual parts and hand-polished to avoid visible transitions. The chair is carefully upholstered in leather and both the seat and the backrest have handmade buttons. The Foyer series was designed in 1945 by Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Radiohuset in Copenhagen. Vilhelm Theodor Lauritzen was one of Denmark's most influential architects and a father of Danish modernism. Today, many of his projects are lasting examples of a new and revolutionary approach to architecture, where form followed function.
