As an artist, Arne Clausen was versatile. He rarely adhered to a particular form of expression and experimented with topping, jewelry, illustrations and poetry. Despite being the father of one of Scandinavia's greatest design successes, he remained an unknown name for decades. It was not until 2008, when a Norwegian archivist set out to find the inventor of the lotus pattern, that Clausen became a household name and gained public reputation and fame.
